BEST AGE DEFYING STYLE WHO: Jennifer Lopez WHY: One hot mama! Super short minis and gravity defying plunging necklines at 42 years old. BEST CASUAL STYLE WHO: Jennifer Aniston WHY: She doesnt stray very far from her go-to staples like tank tops, cargo pants, leather jackets and motorcycle boots. You know what? It works. Why mess with perfection? BEST SEXY STYLE WHO: Sofia Vergara WHY: With a body like hers, she cant help but be sexy. But the thing I love about Sofia is that she is never vulgar. She plays up her assets, but doesnt expose too much. Thats a true lady. BEST CLASSIC STYLE WHO: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge WHY: Even under enormous pressure to look perfect, Kate makes it all look so easy. Elegant and classy no matter if shes wearing high fashion or clothes from the high street, she got off to a stylish start. Yes, her wedding dress was gorgeous. Watch Madonna and Her W.E. Cast Make Their Movie Appear Enjoyable in 24-Minute Doc
I am clearly a thundering shill for Madonna whether she’s making terrible movies along with her ex-husband or making terrible movies with Griffin Dunne, but there’s something about W.E.’s self-serious, accidental telenovela that’s not necessarily watchably bad. It’s just humorless and overlong — though Andrea Riseborough is fabulous since the polarizing Wallis Simpson. In the new 24-minute documentary about Madonna’s large feature, the director and her cast do their utmost to promote their watercolored biopic, and I only say for you what? They execute a good job. Don’t request me to explain it. But James D’Arcy still seems like Anthony Perkins, so shut up and start crying in adoration. Here’s what strikes me just like a little misguided: 1) The best importance placed upon the costuming and jewelry. W.E. feels as if a P Ales commercial wonderful its slow-motion carat porn. 2) Wallis Simpson is certainly a fascinating historic figure, but there’s no there there if this involves a satisfying character arc. Madonna has always loved questionable women, but she’s ultimately too tame an iconoclast for this kind of extended movie. Still, I search Madonna’s commentary here. It generates for me expect a great follow-up feature — though in the event you request me, she need her hands at pointing a thrilling-female comic ensemble. If her acting past is any suggestion, that’s her surest wager for fulfillment. W.E. - Marketing Documentary [YouTube]

(Hindi dialogue)Maneesh Sharma's sophomore outing, "Ladies versus. Ough Bahl," reunites the director and stars of 2010's surprise hit "Wedding Organizers" inside a tale of the sexy disadvantage artist and the comeuppance as a result of three women he's fleeced. This latest Yash Raj production depends on rapid-fire editing, vibrant perfs, snappy dialogue along with a driving score to accelerate the film beyond the speed where auds will notice repetition and incongruencies. Despite the possible lack of imagination sucks plot twists of the resourcefulness, "Ladies" will coast sufficiently on its actors' charm to attain solid B.O. following its worldwide 12 ,. 9 bow. Ough Bahl (Ranveer Singh), a disadvantage guy who passes another title, profession and personality in each city, bears greater than a passing resemblance to Romain Duris' professional lothario in "Heartbreaker." Appearing like a professional trainer in Delhi, he romances wealthy, petulant, impulsive Dimple (newcomer Parineeti Chopra inside a carefully updated comic turn), ingratiates themself together with her father and, inside a brilliant little bit of theater, bilks him from a lot of money. In Mumbai, he impersonates a brash, insolent art dealer to be able to sell a forged painting to energy-suited businesswoman Regina (Dipannita Sharma), eager to meet her boss's impossible demands. As well as in Lucknow (in flashback), he palms themself off like a shy country boy looking for marketplaces for village craftspeople, duping sweet, soft-spoken widow Saira (Aditi Sharma) and her encouraging merchant in-laws and regulations. The 3 completely different women then band together to restore their cash as well as their pride. They find Ough in Goa and hire vivacious, irresistible saleswoman Ishika (Anushka Sharma, reprising her lead role opposite Singh in "Wedding Organizers") to pose being an American millionaire's daughter trying to make opportunities. She dangles herself before Ough, with inevitable results. The women gradually catch their seafood while divesting him of his ill-become gains. But as opposed to Ricky's carefully orchestrated, ingeniously concocted ripoffs, the women's payback plan is removed as flimsy, foreseeable and disappointingly gender-biased improbably cooking and sewing up bad weather, they exorbitantly charge Ough for fine cuisine and haute couture. For the majority of the film's other half, the trio simply follows Ough and Ishika to follow the progress of the strategy, cutely hiding, and appearing, to spy on these questions comic routine that rapidly develops stale because the film devolves right into a soppy romance sustained exclusively through the actors' chemistry. Man Shot in the Face in L.A. Shooting Is Longtime Music Industry Executive
The identity of a man shot in the face during Friday's shooting in Hollywood has been revealed.our editor recommendsL.A. Shooting: Hollywood Reporter Editor Shot, Recalls IncidentGunman Opens Fire Near Hollywood's ArcLight Theater (Video) Music industry executive John Atterberry, in critical condition at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, was sitting in his silver Mercedes on Friday by the intersection of Sunset Blvd. and Vine St. when the gunman shot him. Atterberry is a longtime recording industry manager and promoter and has been involved with acts like The Spice Girls, Brandy and Jessica Simpson, law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times. VIDEO: Gunman Opens Fire Near Hollywood's ArcLight Theater "I was shocked to hear the news," saysCourtney Barnes, publicist for Smokey Robinson and Ron Artest who has worked with Atterberry before."His office is nearby, ours is four blocks away, it could have been any ofus driving through that intersection." Barnes describes Atterberry as "areally nice guy." Police still do not have a motive for the shooting. The gunman, identifiedas 26-year-old Tyler Brehm by the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, randomly opened fire at approximately 10:19 a.m. near the ArcLight Cinemas. The suspect allegedly fired between nine and 12 shots before being killed by police, according to reports. When he ran out of bullets, the gunman allegedly pulled out a knife, yelling, "Kill me" and "I want to be killed." In what the Los Angeles Police Department called a "random shooting," witnesses enlisted the help of two police officers who were working on a nearby movie set after seeing a man open fire in the street. The man walked northbound on Vine with a gun in the air and when cars began driving by, lowered his gun and fired at them. One of those vehicles who was shot at was a THR.com photo editor, who was on his way to work from his North Hollywood home when the gunman fired at his black truck, which was captured on video. AMC Acquires Off-Network Privileges Of CSI: Miami, Improving Series Renewal Chances
It is really an odd pairing — Don Draper and Horatio Caine will be on a single network! In the to begin with-network acquisition, AMC, home of Mad Males, Breaking Bad and also the Walking Dead, has acquired the off-network privileges to CBS’ veteran procedural CSI: Miami. The offer with CBS Television Distribution, stated to become worth hundreds of huge amount of money, covers the present 10 seasons of CSI: Miami in addition to Seasons 11 and 12 if created. (Today’s deal certainly increases the likelihood of the show ongoing on CBS past the current tenth season). Except for Seasons 11 and 12, which AMC would get solely, the pact is non-exclusive. A&E, which in fact had been the exclusive cable home of CSI: Miami, continues to air the show from 6 AM-4 PM. AMC gets fringe and primetime privileges having a 4 PM-6 AM window. The drama starring David Caruso can make its debut on AMC on Jan. 2 at 5 PM and can air within the hour Monday through Friday. CSI: Miami is area of the greatly popular CSI franchise and probably the most viewed series on the planet. Like a procedural, it's also highly repeatable, that is key for cable systems searching for methods to boost their lineups. Being an hourlong, CSI: Maimi will even give AMC versatility arranging-smart. To date, the network have been in a position to complement its original series just with movies that are harder to schedule due to their different length. Still, CSI: Miami, a meat-and-potato procedural which has never been nominated for major honours, appears as an odd companion to AMC’s selection of acclaimed originals. Furthermore, it's interesting that in the evolution, AMC takes a direction opposite towards the conventional one. Most cable network begin with off-network product and progressively expand into originals. AMC established itself like a strong original series player before going into off-network purchases.

Quirky Icelandic Comedy Takes Turin Film Festival's Top Prize
DETROIT -- Dr. Feelgood, the Theatre of Pain and, of course, plenty of Girls, Girls, Girls are taking up residency in Las Vegas during February.our editor recommendsConcert Review: Motley Crue at the Hollywood BowlMotley Crue Rocker Vince Neil Charged With Battery Motley Crue in Sin City will hunker down from Feb. 3-19, 2012 at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The 12-show run will include Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 5), Valentine's Day and President's Day, and the band members are promising an extravaganza that will both live up to and surpass their usual theatrical standards. PHOTOS: 20 Best and Worst Music to Movie Crossovers "It's gonna be just over-the-top craziness," frontman Vince Neil told Billboard.com during a conference call with reporters. "Vegas is pretty much based on big, big shows, and Motley Crue is also. We're putting together a show right now that's something we have never done in our lives. It's a stationary show. It doesn't have to move around, so we can do all kinds of stuff we only really dreamed about." Neil said the group plans for the production to be "interactive," with even those seated towards the back or the top of the venue "encompassed in the show." Drummer Tommy Lee added that, "I think more and more people are wanting an experience, and we're trying to bring that into this where people aren't necessarily at the show, they're IN the show. We're really trying to design something here that, when you leave there, you're wearing the show. You're taking parts of it with you. It's on you ... Why not make it a full-on experience, really? We're putting together moments of this show where the actual audience participates. They're in it. They're around it. It's going to be really exciting." PHOTOS: A History of Grunge in Pictures Neil and Lee did not share specific details to share about the production but Lee said that the show would involve "other entertainers ... and not in a musical fashion," as well as dancers in various stages of undress. "It sure would be fun to really do it Vegas style and have there be some nudity, or almost nude," Lee said, to which Neil added, "Basically, Tommy's saying there'll be lots of naked girls on stage." Lee also revealed he'll be using a modified, "even more crazy" version of the rollercoaster-like track that let him play upside down during the Crue's concerts this year. "Vegas is known for its huge, over the top shows," said Neil, who resides there when the band is off the road. "That's why I think we're a perfect fit for this." Lee, meanwhile, noted that "having (the show) not have to move every night really opens a bunch of doors for us -- literally trap doors." The Crue, whose last album was 2008's "Saints of Los Angeles," does not plan to include any brand new music in the shows, but Lee predicted there will be some flexibility in the set list from night to night. "I would imagine our plans are probably to switch it up," he said. "If we're doing a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, chances are there might be some people coming to see two shows ore maybe even three if they're there. Who knows? So I imagine we'll mix it up." The Motley Crue in Sin City show dates are Feb. 3-5, 8, 10-12, 14-15, 17-19. Ticket prices are $85 for the general admission pit and reserved floor seating, and $65 for balcony reserved with $129.50-$179.50 VIP packages. The presale has already started; public sales begin at 10 a.m. Saturday [Dec. 3] at www.motley.com, www.thejointlasvegas.com and www.ticketmaster.com. The Hard Rock is also offering vacation packages that include tickets to the show. Lee and Neil says the Crue will consider returning to Las Vegas for another residency, perhaps for even greater lengths. "If it's successful and works out for everybody, why not?" Neil says. "That's what's great about Vegas -- people from all over the world are here for a few days, then move on, new people always coming in. Basically you're having the world come to you." That said, the Crue -- which begins a six-date U.K. tour with Def Leppard and Steel Panther on Dec. 6 -- is planning to see some more of the world during 2012. A North American tour is likely, but Lee said whether it will be a Crue Fest package hasn't been determined. "We're still discussing and putting together plans for the summer ... planning the rest of our new year," the drummer explains. "Right now we're focusing on getting the Vegas residency dialed in." The quartet is also reported to be publishing a 10th anniversary expanded edition of its band memoir The Dirt -- Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band, but neither Neil nor Lee specified what new material will be included. Colony Capital in hunt for Summit
A year after buying Miramax, Colony Capital has become a possible second bidder for Summit Entertainment along with Lionsgate.Reps for Summit and Colony Capital declined to comment but people familiar with the situation said that Colony and Summit had been in talks about a possible deal in recent weeks. News of the Lionsgate negotiations with Summit emerged earlier this week -- although neither company has officially confirmed -- with Lionsgate having engaged JP Morgan as an adviser. Both deals would bolster Summit's ability to operate as a minimajor in that both Lionsgate and Miramax possess significant libraries. Colony completed a $663 million buyout of Miramax from Disney in December 2010. Since then, Miramax execs have combed through hundreds of boxes in a warehouse in Los Angeles containing the details of about 650 projects developed under the previous regime and reached a deal with Lionsgate and StudioCanal on worldwide distribution rights to more than 550 library titles.Lionsgate has been active in exploring acquisitions while stressing that it won't overpay. Grammy Nom Preview: Who Will Lead The Way?
First Published: November 30, 2011 11:16 AM EST Credit: Getty Images Caption Adele performs onstage during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on August 28, 2011LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- She likely wont get 21, but Adele is poised to take the biggest share of nods when the Grammy nominations are announced Wednesday night. The British singer-songwriter has had a great year, thanks to her sophomore album, 21. The mournful album about a failed relationship is the years best-selling disc with over 4.5 million copies sold. It has resulted in two smash singles, Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You. The Recording Academy will likely add to Adeles achievements. She is a strong contender to get bids for album of the year and for song and/or record of the year for the searing groove Rolling in the Deep. But shes not the only favorite for top nominations. Taylor Swifts multiplatinum Speak Now is a possible contender for album of the year, as is Tony Bennetts Duets II, which marked the 85-year-olds first album to debut at No. 1, making him the oldest artist to achieve that feat. Lady Gagas Born This Way, which had the years biggest debut with 1.1 million albums sold in its first week, could become her third straight disc to be nominated for album of the year. She was cited for The Fame Monster this year and for her debut, The Fame, in 2010. Then theres Kanye West. His My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was one of the most highly regarded albums of 2010, and is eligible for a nomination for album of the year. So is his collaboration with Jay-Z for Watch the Throne, another contender in the category. A handful of the nominations are scheduled to be revealed during the fourth annual Grammy nominations concert special, to air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on CBS at 10 p.m. EST. Lady Gaga is slated to open and close the show. Other performers include Katy Perry, who could get a record of the year nomination for her hit Firework; Rihanna, who could snag a few nominations, including album of the year for Loud; and The Band Perry, the country sibling trio likely to be up for best new artist. (Another strong contender for that category, Nicki Minaj, is scheduled to be a presenter on the special.) The Band Perry, at rehearsals Tuesday night, were hopeful about getting a nomination. Our fingers are crossed. We kinda dont like to think too much about that kind of stuff on nights before nominations. We dont want to be a bad luck charm. Ill tell you what, it would be the cherry on top of a really wonderful year, said Kimberly Perry. We actually just today got the news that weve been certified platinum. Weve been high-fiving and celebrating all day. If we were honored to be nominated for best new artist, we would definitely be celebrating two days in a row. This years nominations will mark the newly trimmed Grammys. Earlier this year, amid some protests, the academy cut the number of categories from 109 to 78. Some of the more niche categories, like best Zydeco or Cajun music album, were eliminated. In addition, men and women will now compete together in vocal categories for pop, R&B and country, instead of having separate categories for each sex. Even with the reductions, there is an avalanche of categories, as noted by Neil Portnow, the Academys CEO and president. Weve got 78 categories now. It would certainly be impossible to do all of them on any of our shows, he said Tuesday. The 54th annual Grammy Awards will be presented Feb. 12 in Los Angeles, and will be telecast live on CBS. 'X Factor' Showstopper: Paula Abdul Gets Cut Off by Host Steve Jones; Judges React
FOXSteve Jones Perhaps one of the most uncomfortable moments of X Factor's first live episode Tuesday was about halfway through the two-and-a-half hour broadcast, when the show was running a good two minutes behind and host Steve Joneswas forced to cut off Paula Abdul mid-sentence.our editor recommends'The X Factor' Redux: 5 Awkward Moments From the Judges' Homes (Video)'The X Factor' Redux: 5 Afterthoughts on the Shows Premiere 'New Girl,' 'Secret Circle' and 'X Factor': 10 Youngest-Skewing New Shows This Season (So Far)'American Idol's' Nigel Lythgoe Slams Twitter Followers Over 'X Factor''American Idol' Creator Sues Fox For Millions in 'X Factor' Money (Exclusive) To recap: The Brewer Boys had just been eliminated by their mentor when they sheepishly apologized for not living up to her expectations. Fighting back tears, Abdul uttered a few words of encouragement but was promptly interrupted by Jones, who insisted they had to move on. PHOTOS: 'X Factor' Top 17 Finalists: Get to Know the Artists "My producers were screaming, 'We're way over, we gotta move on, stop them,' " Jones told The Hollywood Reporter following Tuesday's show. "It was always a task to showcase 17 acts in two-and-a-half hours. With 16, we were going over, so it was a herculean feat that the production team pulled it off." But at whose expense? Judging by twitter reaction and that of the studio audience, viewers were aghast at the perceived dis, and then came the inevitable question: Would Ryan Seacrest have sweated the clock? PHOTOS: Behind the Scenes: THR's 'X Factor' Cover Shoot "I don't want to stop these people arguing -- it's thoroughly entertaining," said Jones. "But we're on limited time, so I had to stop her occasionally." He makes no apologies for his actions, either. "I will never apologize for doing my job," he said. "Paula was cool, but she did look a little bit annoyed." For his part, Simon Cowell relished in the drama. "I love when we're on the wire like this," he said. "I love when the producers come over during the break and go nuts. And they're literally going crazy. And I like the fact that you can control that and create the tension. That's live TV. PHOTOS: An 'American Idol' to 'X Factor' Timeline As for Abdul herself, a good hour after the closing credits, she clearly hadn't gotten over it. "It was a little awkward, to be completely honest," she told THR. "It was right when Nathan Brewer said, 'I'm sorry, Miss Paula, that we didn't live up to your expectations.' I couldn't catch my breath, and that's when Steve cut me off. It was very difficult for me to let go to the Brewer Boys. I really love those kids." Abdul said she's been putting in extra-long hours working with the groups. On Tuesday, she had been at the studio from 8 a.m. until 2 in the morning. "I've been working 12-15 hours a day nonstop," she continued. "They've never performed on a television stage, so to teach them how to connect with the camera, enunciate their words..." So how did they handle the pressure of a live show? "I was terrified," said Scherzinger. "We've never done this before." Added Reid: "We tried to stay short and tight, but you can't really worry about it." So how far behind was the show? At its worst, two minutes, which later narrowed to 50 seconds and finally, the episode actually wrapped early, said Jones. "We were up and down," he said. "But we pulled it back and in the last chunk, we actually ended under. So we flipped it around. We were too good for our own good." Nicole Scherzinger Paula Abdul Simon Cowell Antonio L.A. Amazon.com Third-Quarter Profit Falls, Stock Drops
NY - Amazon.com said Tuesday it is gearing up for strong device sales this holiday season, driven by its new Kindle Fire tablet. But the e-tailer reported a sharp decline in third-quarter profitability and also predicted a bottom line drop for the current quarter amid continued spending. "Sept. 28 was the biggest order day ever for Kindle, even bigger than previous holiday peak days - we introduced Kindle Fire for $199, Kindle Touch 3G for $149, Kindle Touch for $99, and our all new Kindle for only $79," said Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.com, in a statement. "In the three weeks since launch, orders for electronic ink Kindles are double the previous launch. And based on what we're seeing with Kindle Fire pre-orders, we're increasing capacity and building millions more than we'd already planned." Amazon unveiled the Kindle Fire, which will be a key competitor for Apple's iPad when it goes on sale in mid-November, late last month. As always, Amazon didn't detail how many Kindles it sold in its latest quarter. On a conference call Tuesday afternoon, Amazon CFO Tom Szkutak wouldn't say if the Kindle Fire's browser would include a direct search function for Amazon products, but confirmed that it would include links to Amazon. Amazon reported third-quarter earnings of $63 million, down 73 percent from the year-ago period and below Wall Street expectations, despite a 44 percent revenue increase to $10.9 billion. Szkutak mentioned spending on more shipping centers and other infrastructure to deal with higher demand as a reason for the different directions of revenue and profitability. For the current fourth quarter, Amazon said its profit will again decline. Its bottom line could range from an operating loss of $200 million to an operating profit of $250 million, the firm said. In after-hours, the stock declined more than 10 percent. With Netflix bringing its streaming service to the U.K., one analyst asked Tuesday whether Amazon-controlled U.K. online video service Lovefilm would continue to spend on content. "We have been investing in content since the acquisition," said Szkutak. "We continue to invest there. It's a great oppportunity. The business is doing very well." Fox extends TV Everywhere
Fox has added Verizon Fios TV and Mediacom to the list of multichannel providers who will give next-day access to its primetime shows. In July, Fox became the first broadcaster to push the online availability of primetime series to eight days after years of providing next-day access via Fox.com and Hulu, where parent company News Corp. is part owner. Dish signed on as the only distributor to provide next-day access to its subscribers as of Aug. 15. Verizon has already been imposing the delay as of Oct. 1 while Mediacom is expected to join in a few more weeks. No other broadcaster has yet to follow Fox's TV Everywhere strategy, though ABC and NBC also make their programs available on Hulu. Their parent companies, Walt Disney Co. and NBCUniversal decided, together with fellow Hulu owner News Corp., not to sell Hulu earlier this month. Heche On For Arthur Newman, Golf Pro
Anne's joining the Colin Firth comedyDark comedy Arthur Newman, Golf Pro already has the likes of Colin Firth and Emily Blunt aboard. Now it's adding Anne Heche to the cast.Arthur Newman will find Firth as a man who absolutely loathes his boring job, is hated by his family and regularly admonished by his overbearing girlfriend (Heche). So he decides to pull a Reggie Perrin and fake his own death in the hopes of starting a new life. From the sounds of it, his plan initially works well, as he meets a charming yet troubled girl (Blunt) and conspires with her to break into people's houses and pose as the couples while the original owners are away. Which, we assume, is where the title comes into it...Though it sounds like an awfully lightweight concept for a comedy (and not completely original), the cast is at least decent. Adverts veteran Dante Ariola is behind the camera, working from a script by Becky Johnston, whose last produced screen credit was 1997's Seven Years in Tibet.Ariola is looking to start shooting this month in North Carolina.

Hi-Yo, Get on With It! 'The Lone Ranger' Will Probably Happen at Lower Budget
After weeks of back and forth, it appears 'The Lone Ranger' with Johnny Depp will actually happen at Disney. Deadline reports that Depp, director Gore Verbinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer reached an agreement on the production budget, meaning filming should start sometime later this year. Disney initially balked at what was reported as a budget of nearly $250 million. No figures are currently available but it was assumed the studio would go forward with the film if Bruckheimer and Verbinski could get the cost in the $215 million range. Initially scheduled for Dec. 21, 2012, 'The Lone Ranger' stars Depp as Tonto, Armie Hammer as the titular hero and newcomer Ruth Wilson as the female lead. Written by Justin Haythe ('Revolutionary Road'), it was reported that the script featured three high-priced train derailments. Mission Impossible To Open Early On IMAX
Hugh Grant says that Prime Minister David Cameron was far too close to Rupert Murdochs organisation, and that he must have known disgraced Murdoch editor Andy Coulson oversaw a culture of phone hacking at the News of the World before hiring him as his chief PR flack. Indeed, Grant warned UK Chancellor George Osborne that it would be a catastrophic mistake to appoint Coulson before the PM made the hire. Grant told The Times of London that he found himself sitting next to Osborne at a dinner party and had to be calmed down by his hostess because he got so angry. Grant, who has been doing the rounds of the political party conferences over here once-yearly gatherings of the faithful, much like Democrat/Republican conventions in the U.S. said there was more to be revealed about the relationship between senior politicians and the Murdoch press. He told the Independent: The more that comes out about all this, the more we will learn about the true nature of the Prime Ministers relationship with the Murdoch organisation. What I hear on the Cotswold grapevine [the tony Oxford area where Cameron and ex-News International CEO Rebekah Brooks both live] is that the relationship was sinisterly cosy to a deeply unhealthy and unattractive degree. The actor, who is filming Cloud Atlas with Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and Jim Broadbent for the Wachowski brothers, doubts whether the UK government has any real appetite for media reform or whether their instinct is to push the whole thing into the long grass and go back into the nice cosy old routine of being in bed with Murdoch. He added that he thought Rupert Murdochs performance before politicians investigating the hacking scandal in July was phoney. Speaking as a bad actor, it was easy to spot a bad performance … my sources tell me he was as a sharp as a tack when they saw him a week or two before, he said. Grant was giving interviews before meeting David Cameron in Manchester last night. He said he wanted to hear directly from the PM as to why he accepted Coulsons explanation that a lone rogue employee had hacked phones under his News of the World editorship. Following the meeting, Grant said that Cameron made the right noises but I expected him to make the right noises. Grant, who as Deadline revealed, backed out of replacing Charlie Sheen as the star of Two and a Half Men at the last minute, has reinvented himself over here as a justice campaigner on behalf of celebrities and civilians who have had their phones hacked. He has always been ambivalent about being a vacuous movie star, and has long-talked about doing something more worthwhile. Asked if he had been wasting his life until now, Grant told The Guardian: That is harsh, but yes. If I had been a complete failure until the age of 51, I would definitely go along with you but I suppose I have had a few successes. But yes, you are right. I have squandered my life.Watch Transformers 3 Dark Of The Moon Free

Dexter Stalemate Between Michael C. Hall And Showtime Puts Shows Future In Limbo
EXCLUSIVE: Showtime’s flagship drama Dexter opened its sixth season on Sunday with a stellar 2.2 million viewers, up 24% from last year to mark the hit series highest-rated premiere ever and Showtimes best original series opener in at least 14 years. But the prospects of the hit drama going to a seventh season are now uncertain as negotiations between Dexter star Michael C. Hall and Showtime have broken down. I hear that the two sides reached an impasse yesterday, the same day Dexter‘s big Season 6 premiere ratings came out. Hall’s contract for Dexter is up after the current sixth season, which is about to wrap production. He has been negotiating with Showtime for a while, but I hear talks broke down after the two sides couldn’t bridge a $4 million gap in proposed salary for a new deal, with Showtime offering $20 million for two more seasons and Hall’s team asking for $24 million. Either figure would make Hall one of the highest-paid actors in cable. Sources indicate that the network brass remain hopeful about reaching a deal, with signing Hall for one more season vs. two also an option. Hall jumped on Dexter immediately after finishing Six Feet Under and, after working on a TV series for 10 straight years, the actor had been looking to do other things, including a Broadway musical. He won a Golden Globe for his role on Dexter last year.Watch Transformers 3 Dark Of The Moon Full Movie

Sony Sells 2 More Comedies, Including Remake Of French-Canadian Format
Sony Pictures TV has sold 3 more comedy projects to the broadcast networks: an U.S. version of the French-Canadian format Les Invincibles to Fox with Family Guy executive producer Chris Sheridan writing and Luke Greenfield (Something Borrowed) directing and an untitled half-hour to ABC with Peter Tolan executive producing. Sony TV’s tally now stands at 49 comedy sales this season. Additionally, the studio has sold a drama from comedy veterans Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah to NBC. The Invincibles revolves around three guys and one girl, all in their 20s, who make a pact to simultaneously dump their girlfriend or boyfriend (or quit their job if unattached) and reclaim their lives. CAA-repped Greenfield was the driver behind the project and brought in Sheridan as a writer. The two are executive producing with 3 Arts’ Tom Lassally and Jonathan Berry. (I couldn’t find a trailer in English but, for the francophones out there, there is one in French below. In the original version, the four leads are all guys.) The untitled ABC comedy centers on a bright young teacher-turned-waiter after losing his job because of budget cuts who is convinced by his cunning but lovable best friend and a small group of his eccentric students to start a private high school — in a garage. Mike Starrbury (Comedy Central’s Black Jack pilot) is writing, with Tolan supervising and executive producing with his producing partner Michael Wimer through their Sony TV-based production company Fedora Entertainment. NBC’s Gabe Sachs/Jeff Judah drama, titled The Last Stand, is an ensemble medical show about a group of Army doctors who return to work the night shift together at a hospital in San Antonio.
1911: Film Review
HONG KONG -- Flouting Chairman Mao's remark that "Revolution is not taking individuals to dinner," gate crashes and dinner get-togethers occupy more screen time than grisly battles and nation building in 1911. Jackie Chan stars and co-directs this historic epic with Zhang Li to commemorate the centennial in the Xinhai Revolution, which ended 220 years in the monarchial system in China. However, Chan has not injected his playful charm or physical virtuosity into Wang Xingdong's and Chen Baoguang's insipid, poorly structured script.our editor recommends'1911': Jackie Chan Takes Serious Submit First Trailer (Video)Day-and-Date Release Planned in U.S., China for Jackie Chan's '1911' (Berlin) A where you live now Chinese propaganda vehicle through and through, the film postulates history within this scrappy, inaccessible manner that either as entertainment or education, it's a lost cause. Initial domestic truth is not particularly fervent. Overseas release plus a U.S. bow will simply pique specialist and academic curiosity. Chan's usual number of fans can offer that certain a pass no matter the astounding undeniable fact that that is his 100th film becoming an actor. 1911 tales the political careers of China's first leader Sun Yat Sen (Winston Chao) and military commander Huang Xing (Chan) as parallel trajectories that embody the two-pronged offensives in the revolution. Sun might be the diplomat and statesman spearheading overseas fund-raising efforts and moving a complicated web of western imperialist interests, while Huang can get his hands dirty (and also the fingers blown off) in bloody warfare. However, their relationship never adopts personal depths or fires up the actual way it created the country's future. They rarely even are available in the identical scene. Two battles are represented since the turning points inside their struggle: the not successful third Guangzhou Uprising on April 23, 1911 as well as the Wuchang Uprising on October 10, 1911 which motivated 14 provinces to declare independence within the reigning Qing court. The knowledge devised by Chan's own stunt team works-of-the-mill and episodic with no forward momentum. The cut lower narrative and rushed editing supply the dubious impression the revolutionaries lose fight after fight without putting their proper position (namely that they're very outnumbered and missing ammunition) in context. Chao, who's carried out Sun numerous occasions since the Song Brothers and sisters (1997), practically inhabits the role, infusing the film getting a dignified presence. However, this cannot alleviate the stodgy dialogue he's given, which appears like reams of political treatises, or perhaps the gauche behavior the script assigns him, like developing a facile example between western imperialist expansionism together with a lamb chop. Screenwriters Wang and Chen, who composed the blockbuster epics The Founding from the Republic and Start of Great Revival, recycle the identical formula of making 1911 a vehicle for star-studded cameos. However, stars in 1911 are less numerous and luminous. The gimmick is wearing thin anyway. Historic accounts in the protagonists' real lives rock with adventure and romance. The script doesn't take full advantage of their chance of entertainment. The dearth of background or anecdotal information in portrayal is signaled inside the prologue execution of Qiu Jin (Ning Jing) without highly relevant to her background just like a political visionary and proto-feminist. Huang will be a military genius, who organized 20,000-strong Qing troop for just about any month with 200 males inside the Guangxi uprising in 1908. Chan just bounces across the warzone as being a cheerleader with daft exhortations like "your safety comes first!" In contrast, ambitious General Yuan Shikai emerges since the most formidable character since the film devotes more hours to exhibit how he plays legal court as well as the Republican government against each other. His devious violence of Empress Dowager Longyu (Joan Chen hamming up a prima donna act) provides rare moments of dramatic tension. The film's only romantic interest -- between Huang and also the wife Xu Zonghan (Li Bingbing) completely touches upon over the whole process of how their paper wedding blossoms into soul mates, reducing feelings with a handful of disconnected reaction shots of Xu frowning or worrying. Inside the same neglectful way, scholar-martyr Lin Juemin's (He Whirlpool) celebrated letter (now part of Chinese school curricula) to his wife Chen Yiying is not reported once, nor they've created a moving episode using their love. Rather, stylized shots of him frolicking on Penang beach as being a Club Mediterranean commercial are put into totally incongruous moments over and over. The technical package is noticeably pricey, but skilled cinematography aside its production design does not create particularly stylish period atmospherics. Groups of U.S. or European background objects look especially overwrought and faux. Dolphin Tale Producer States About Morgan Freemans Anti-Tea Party Remarks: I Do Not Accept It Affected A Dollar!
Between now as well as the 2012 presidential election, Hollywood filmmakers will probably be putunder a lot more scrutiny for every political statement they've created. The newest twist is whetherthe movie moguls think politically open stars shouldn’t be cast because 50% of the united states who disagree utilizing their sights won’t emerge laminator tl901 office to find out their photos. The newest example is Morgan Freeman who on Fridaywent on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight and deniedhe’d provided narration for just about any Tea Party-supported Republican candidate’s attack ad last November. Your Oscar champion blasted theTea Party, calling their aggressive ambitions “racist” for opposition to Leader Obama.”Their pointed out policy, freely pointed out, is always to do whatever needs doing to make sure that Obama only serves one term,” Freeman mentioned. “What underlines that? ‘Screw the country. We’re prone to whatever we could to acquire this black guy from here.’” Freeman mentioned the Tea Party agenda”just shows the weak, dark, bottom of America” and added, “We’re stated to become a lot better than that.” The timing couldn’t are actually worse for Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros in addition to their Dolphin Tale starring Freeman. Immediately, the net filled with media chatter that Freeman’s claims would hurt Dolphin Tale laminator tl901 office a couple of days ago because itfeatured him plainly inside the movie trailer and TV adsaimed within the American heartland. So today I asked for Alcon Entertainment co-founder Andrew Kosove whether he thoughtthe Freeman ruckus had hurt the pic a couple of days ago. (Kosove had expected it to win el born area office derby but itfinished No. 3 getting a good $20.2M): We are clearly delighted (and humbled) because it might be an extremely unusual movie to greenlight in this era….an energetic action family drama. It absolutely was a “throwback” to a different in time Hollywood when family films stood a different composition from today. To date as Morgan, I don’t need to be “off the record”. (I am no “off the record” kind of guy). I do not accept it affected Dolphin Tale‘s gross by a dollar! I do not share Morgan’s view and do not believe this kind of harsh partianship by either finish of politcal spectrum is helpful throughout these very difficult occasions. Nonetheless, as someone who has some libertarian viewpoints myself, I STRONGLY trust Morgan’s to convey whatever values he's on any subject. We are a free of charge country….fortunately!

Matt's Help guide to Wednesday Evening TV: New and Coming back Shows
Patricia Heaton, Neil Flynn Ongoing having a extended take a look at the way the year is shaping up, evening by evening, with ideas around the aircraft pilots and selected season premieres, among other treats.Wednesday the bottom line is: Hey, Fox, save something for everybody else. This is the unavoidable feeling like a new juggernaut looms within the X Factor, which many be prepared to approach The American Idol Show levels, a minimum of initially, if perhaps due to the thunderous Simon Cowell-Paula Abdul reunion hype. This won't be great news because of its primary reality competition, CBS' lengthy-running Survivor franchise. There is however always room for counterprogramming in comedy and drama, and that's why even when amounts are depressed a little for ABC's sitcom selection, there is no reason to stress once the shows are as terrific because the Middle and Emmy champion Modern Family - which year, you will find an encouraging sitcom airing together, the broadly satirical Suburgatory (premiering in a few days). At 10/9c, ABC's sudsy Revenge saga will contemplate it lucky whether it could possibly get arrested, considering the fact that it's rising against a showdown between two longtime crime leaders. Search for CBS' established crime dramas to thrive - Criminal Minds has possessed its slot for a long time - after which things get interesting at 10/9c because the CSI mothership moves from Thursdays, with Ted Danson now in the helm, facing Law & Order: SVU, which suffers a large loss using the departure of Christopher Meloni. Neither show is exactly what you'd call a spring chicken, but Danson does put just a little spring in the step from the Vegas crime lab. Elsewhere on NBC, it's prone to look harsh for that new comedies Up Through The Night and particularly Free Agents, while Harry's Law makes its argument for David E. Kelley's make of legal absurdism. Using the CW, most are lounging bets the repulsive H8R is not lengthy with this world, but exactly how that affects the all-star America's Next Top Model remains to appear.Want more fall TV news? Sign up for TV Guide Magazine now!Now onto the shows, beginning with what's new:Within our Fall Preview problem, I'd this to say of Fox's The X Factor (8/7c): "Y fight it? You realize it will likely be huge. Let us just hope the talent lives as much as the hype." I'm going to be tuning in live to look at the ultimate cut from the first audition episode, and for now, there isn't much I'm able to increase that. Also new, but already feeling type of stale, is ABC's Revenge (10/9c). My Fall Preview take: "Forget that 'dish best offered cold' cliché. Revenge's temperature runs more toward the lukewarm, feeling as an overwritten, contrived Lifetime potboiler that, like its simpering antiheroine, does not know when you should quit." To elaborate: Siblings & Sisters' Emily VanCamp takes center stage, virtually choking around the voice-over exposition as she promises, "This isn't a tale about forgiveness." Establishing camping (and that we do mean camping) inside a Hamptons beach house, within spitting distance from the blue bloods who destroyed her father - including Madeleine Stowe because the starchy full bee - the lovely VanCamp schemes to operate her distance to high society so she will privately ruin her opponents, 1 by 1. Some are adopting this like a juicy guilty pleasure, coming back to Empire occasions through the Count of Monte Cristo. I discovered everything a little foreseeable and thick, like I had been choking on Crisco.A Coming back Favorite: As I could not be more happy for Modern Family's near-sweep from the comedy Emmys, I keep wishing the Academy will at some point acknowledge the presence of ABC's underrated jewel The Center (8/7c), which begins its third season having a very funny hourlong episode that transmits the Hecks on the raucous camping trip, a prospect that only papa Mike appears to relish. The large headline may be the stunt casting of Ray Romano, getting back together with his Everyone Loves Raymond mate Patricia Heaton inside a fractious flashback to Frankie and Mike's ill-fated outside honeymoon. However the heart of the episode is, of course, within the dramatically attracted hilarity from the family comedy, as Poor Sue frets about beginning senior high school, which drives barefoot brother Axl crazy, while little Brick is simply too busy burying his nose inside a book to completely appreciate the truly amazing outdoors. Love this crazy family.Ditto for Modern Family (9/8c). The very first of two back-to-back episodes also takes this extended clan from its safe place to commune with character, within this situation a dude ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The 2nd episode has returned on home turf, as Mitch and Cam choose to tell everybody they'd prefer to adopt again, but as always, the evening does not go based on plan. The Crime Beat: Plenty of turbulence at work front on CSI (CBS, 10/9c) and SVU (10/9c) because they begin their twelfth and thirteenth seasons, correspondingly. Things appear just a little better for that CSI crew (and we are not speaking neon here), because couple of will miss the leaden presence of Laurence Fishburne's Ray Langston - especially once fans obtain a load of Ted Danson for action because the cool, playfully off-kilter D.B. Russell, first seen literally laying lower at work. A re-organization has ruffled down, most particularly individuals of the demoted Catherine (who calls him "Moonbeam"), but Russell is really a disarmingly "easygoing type of guy," and Danson helps reduce beautifully into this grind. At the SVU precinct, Benson is naturally rattled and shook by the lack of her partner Stabler - "It's as much as him," states Capt. Kragen when requested if he'll return, a jerk towards the rigorous contract discussions, possibly? - but Olivia is soon distracted with a classic "ripped in the head lines" situation, including an arrogant high-ranking French diplomat (Franco Nero) charged with sexually attacking a Sudanese hotel maid (Anika Noni Rose) whose credibility soon comes under scrutiny. "Bad Stabler's still out," states Ice-T's Tutuola, a sentiment shared by all. And it'll take two new figures to fill Stabler's gumshoes. The very first arrives tonight: Kelli Giddish (Chase) like a gung-ho recruit from Atlanta who can't believe she's working alongside her sex-crimes idol. Danny Pino (Cold Situation) arrives in a few days like a cocky veteran of military intelligence. Tonight's episode implies that SVU has not transformed its stripes or lost its step, but Benson and Mariska Hargitay will not be the sole ones missing Meloni's impassioned unpredictability.TIME Expires: The ultimate hour of BBC America's engrossing The Hour (10/9c) is here, as well as in the very first-season finale - fortunately, it's been restored - this news team risks everything, repel network bosses and also the government to inform each side from the questionable Suez story. Along the way, more particulars emerge about Ruth's murder, and for the identity from the mole inside the BBC? You will need to stay tuned to discover. What exactly else is on? ... Someone finds an immunity idol on CBS' Survivor: South Off-shore (8/7c). That did not take lengthy. ... The fans have spoken, and Paget Brewster along with a.T. Prepare have returned full-time on CBS' Criminal Minds (9/8c), however the BAU is exposed to tough questioning with a Senate committee, brought by Mark Moses (Desperate Average women, Mad Males), who's always so great at being bad. ... One more reason to mourn Fox's cancellation of Human Target? Mark Valley has returned to playing an attorney on the David E. Kelley show, joining NBC's Harry's Law (9/8c) in the second season. It's one of many changes, including welcoming another new connect (Tony champion Karen Olivo) because the firm moves right into a plush attic. Guest stars include Alfred Molina like a murder defendant and Jean Wise as Harry's new foe, the D.A. ... And here is a fun little bit of moonlighting. Dean Norris, so memorable as Breaking Bad's pugnacious DEA agent/brother-in-law Hank, plays host towards the History special The Stoned Age range (9/8c), going through the lengthy good reputation for drug cultivation and employ from ancient cultures to modern pharmaceutical drugs (dare we are saying meth?).Sign up for TV Guide Magazine now!

New images and behind the scenes peeks are steadily emerging over at The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s Tumblr Mouth Taped Shut, including a new piece of maybe-poster art for the December 21 thriller. But there’s something familiar in the way Daniel Craig’s face is split by Rooney Mara’s shadowy profile. Was someone over at Sony marketing borrowing from the Apple playbook? Take a look at the new Dragon Tattoo art, in which Craig’s (as Mikael Blomkvist) face is bisected by the profile outline of Mara’s Lisbeth Salander. 'The Help' Mops Up Competition: Box Office Report August 19-21
The downtrodden housemaids of 'The Help' cleared up in the box office. In the second weekend, the film taken away all competition, including last week's champion, 'Rise from the Planet from the Apes,' and four new wide releases - 'Spy Kids: Constantly on the planet,A 'Conan the Barbarian,' 'Fright Night' and 'One Day.' After last weekend's suddenly strong opening, 'The Help' added 156 screens a few days ago (for any total of two,690). Consequently, the time dramedy came an believed $20.5 million, just 21 percent off last weekend's total. Regardless of the debate the film has engendered over its depiction of the fraught moment within the Civil Privileges era, 'The Help' is constantly on the take advantage of excellent word-of-mouth. It has been beating 'Apes' all week, so its victory a few days ago wasn't any surprise. In 12 times of release, it's gained $71.8 million, also it should remain a box-office stalwart for that relaxation from the summer time. 'Apes,' too, handled to keep off all beginners. After two days on the top, it ended up to second place by having an believed $16.3 million. This is a 41 percent decline from the other day, that is modest for any movie in the third weekend that's facing competition from a minimum of two new movies for the similar audience. Up to now, 'Apes' has gained $133.7 million. With four new movies fighting for third place, the relaxation from the weekend race was anybody's guess. The very best draw one of the beginners was 'Spy Kids: Constantly on the planet,A which opened up at No. 3 by having an believed $12. million. That's below the forecasts, which went towards the upper finish from the $13-$18 million range, and well below the $33.4 million the last installment first showed within 2003. Obviously, which was eight years back three dimensional is not the novelty it had been then, and also the audience for that first three movies has lengthy since outgrown the franchise. The only real factor this reboot had as selling points to an alternative generation of youngsters was its scratch-and-sniff card "Aroma-Scope" gimmick and the possible lack of other fare specific at youthful children, save for that month-old 'The Smurfs.' The remake of 'Conan the Barbarian' was many pundits' pick for that top new movie each week, having a predicted take close to $17 million. It had been a highly-known title relatively unknown lead Jason Momoa had become semi-famous by playing an identical role on HBO's spring series 'Game of Thrones' and also the film had in regards to a year's price of fanboy hype behind it. But three dimensional fatigue has occur, and reviews and word-of-mouth were middling. 'Conan' opened up in 4th place, pillaging only an believed $10. million in the pockets of moviegoers. Opening in fifth place was another 1980s remake, 'Fright Evening,' which in fact had been likely to open around $15 million. Rather, it did approximately half that, by having an believed $8.3 million. Maybe that should not happen to be an unexpected. The 1985 original would be a cult favorite at best. Colin Farrell isn't a box office draw. There is still-strong horror competition from Final Destination 5.' And also the 'Fright Night' marketing attempted to experience it for both, selling the film like a tongue-in-oral cavity undertake the vampire genre while insisting that Farrell's bloodsucker would be a truly terrifying monster who does eat in the morning the sensitive 'Twilight'-style vamps popular in movies and TV recently. Decent reviews and word-of-mouth were not enough to beat everything. The week's final era, romantic tearjerker 'One Day,' opened up way lower in ninth place by having an believed $5.a million. Early forecasts had suspected about $six million, because the film was opening on just 1,719 screens, and also, since it had been facing 'The Help' for the similar audience of youthful women. The presence within the lead role of Hathaway As Catwoman (who marketed the film on every talk show recognized to guy a week ago) and also the pre-offered literary title (film writer David Nicholls modified their own best-selling novel) did not do much to sway moviegoers.
